Poetry moment - Darkness
I was 15 when I wrote the poem like thing below, first poem I ever wrote I think. It was during the summer between 9th grade and gymnasium. I was feeling somewhat nervous about going to new school (even though I ended up loving it). I was often asked how I kept smiling, how I was never sad… I know it now, keeping everything inside is not healthy. Small black ball will just grow.
Darkness forces me
Darkness, it forces me to think
But thinking
Makes me sick
Raises darkness up
Fills me hope of death
Still I smile
Like I always do
My role in this Universe
I smile
I share my smile with everyone
I am a girl
Girl with black halo
Girl with false smile
Frame of mine, it is a lie
Truth is under my skin
Behind the false smile
If you need to know the truth
You have to go inside
Knock the door
And hope that I will open it
Still someday frame will broke
And truth
It comes out
It won’t be pretty
You may want to close your eyes
I know I want to
But finally you must open them
And see the truth
And still I am a girl
Girl with black halo
Girl with false smile
And full of darkness.
I did edit it bit… umm you know I don’t want to embarrass my teenage self too much. :) I used to have poetry section in my blog, way back in time and I thought I’d bring it back.
